I’ve been impressed with Bournemouth defensively this season. I think Truffert will have a few admirers in the summer.

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Final Score

On whether Carrick should get the Manchester United job permanently:

He does for me. They are not the biggest squad depth wise and had to make changes today. If they had gone to Sunderland at the start of the season having to make those changes they would have lost, no doubt about it.

There is a different menality now. Give Carrick the role because he is ready. It's not his first job, he learned a lot at Middlesbrough.

He has brought back a certain identity. They look like a Manchester United team, or certainly like they could become one.

    FT: Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth

Only Liverpool in 1994-95 (23), 1997-98 (18) and 1998-99 (18) have scored more goals via teenagers in a Premier League season than Bournemouth this term (17).

Disappointing draw for Man United. Really think at bit more attacking emphasis could have guaranteed third spot. Unconvinced Carrick is the one for the job. We need a proven title winner.

  6. 'We are not thinking of Europe'published at 17:05 BST

    FT: Sunderland 0-0 Man Utd

    Sunderland

Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka, speaking to Sky Sports: "We did a nearly perfect game, created so many chances against a very good team, with and without the ball. But when you have so many chances you need to score one at least. We're disappointed, but we keep working and believing in ourselves."

On Sunderland's lack of goals: "I give you a very easy answer, stay humble. We've got 48 points, we just got promoted, we've had an amazing season. The demand is very high. We know what we need to improve, but stay humble, stay clam because we are getting there."

On qualifying for Europe: "We are not thinking about Europe. Our motto was game by game, we didn't change after 36 games. We want to finish the season as good as possible. Let's get a lot of points and see where we are in the end."

  7. 'Bournemouth in touching distance of doing the impossible'published at 17:04 BST

    FT: Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth

It is very, very real now for Andoni Iraola's Cherries.

That is probably it for Fulham in terms of their own ambitions of playing continental football next season.

Bournemouth oh my word. A couple of big games coming up now - Man City at home, Forest away - and they are in touching distance of doing the impossible and reaching the promised land.

    FT: Brighton 3-0 Wolves

Wolves are now winless across their last 20 Premier League away matches (D5 L15), the first time they’ve gone 20+ such games without a win in any division since April 2003 and August 2004 (23 games), a spell which also saw them relegated from the top-flight at the end of the 2003-04 campaign.

  9. Bournemouth in decent companypublished at 17:01 BST

    FT: Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth

    Jordan Butler
    BBC Sport

Bournemouth are unbeaten in 16 Premier League games - only Bayern Munich (18) and AC Milan (24) have enjoyed longer runs in Europe's top five leagues this season. Decent company!

The final whistle goes. Bournemouth are two wins away from securing European football for the first time in their history.

    Chris Collinson

This is the first time Manchester United have failed to score in a Premier League game since 24 November - and only the fourth time this season after Arsenal (h), Man City (a) and Everton (h).

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:58 BST

    Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth

Fulham are inches away from rescuing a point. Josh King drills a shot in from a tight angle which hits the underside of the crossbar and bounces down on the line.

  14. Postpublished at 16:58 BST

    Fulham 0-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth should kill the game off but Amine Adli, from close range, gives Bernd Leno a chance to save his shot - and the German does stop it.

  15. 'European dream is still alive'published at 16:56 BST

    FT: Brighton 3-0 Wolves

    Laura Kenyon
BBC Final Score reporter at The Amex

The European dream is still alive for Brighton. Not the Wolves hammering it promised to be after two goals in the opening five minutes, Wolves improved in the second half, but Minteh sealed it with a powerful strike.

Brighton two points off sixth, which could be enough for Champions League football, as it stands.

  16. 'Sunderland's lack of creativity cost them'published at 16:56 BST

    FT: Sunderland 0-0 Man Utd

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester United didn't do enough. They created late on in the game through Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. The substitutes did make a difference.

It just wasn't a performance at the level of what we've seen recently from Michael Carrick's side. However, you do have to give Sunderland credit because they didn't allow them to get to those levels.

They worked extremely hard to stay in the game. They upped the tempo in terms of their pressure and their closing down. They had by far the better chances, but once again their lack of creativity in the final third cost them.

Sunderland were the better team today.
