Image source, Getty ImagesOn Saturday Middlesbrough signed Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old Czech spent last season on loan in the Championship with Bristol City and made 41 league appearances.
Vitek didn't make a competitive appearance for Manchester United but did feature for them in pre-season friendlies this summer.
Image source, Getty ImagesElsewhere over the weekend, France international Lucas Digne completed a move from Aston Villa to European champions Paris St-Germain.
The 33-year-old left back, who joined Villa from Everton in 2022, spent three years with PSG at the start of his career.
He returns to the club after eight years in England, following PSG's decision to activate a £8.5m release clause in his contract.
Digne is also the third senior departure from Villa Park this season, following the exits of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea and Youri Tielemans to Manchester United.

Chelsea have sold Trevoh Chalobah to Italian club Como 1907 for £31m, the first of a number of expected departures from Stamford Bridge.
The club have largely completed their incoming transfer business for new manager Xabi Alonso, but their focus has now turned to reducing the size of the squad.
Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is also expected to leave, with a loan move to partner club Strasbourg set to be completed within the next 48 hours. A further 10 to 15 departures are expected in the coming days.
Available for loan: Guiu, Wiley, Kellyman, Mheuka, Walsh, Kavuma-McQueen, Kendry Paez.

It means the centre-back, who has two senior England caps and was a late call-up to their World Cup squad, leaves his boyhood team after nearly 20 years, having joined Chelsea as a child.
The 27-year-old signed a five-year contract with Cesc Fabregas' side, who secured Champions League qualification by finishing fourth in Serie A last season.

Arsenal land midfield maestro Guimaraes from Newcastle
Surely the biggest transfer over the weekend was Arsenal signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle for £75m.
The 28-year-old Brazil midfielder signed a four-year deal with the option of a further 12 months, and called the move one of the "toughest decisions" of his life.
Guimaraes joined Newcastle when they were in relegation trouble in January 2022.
He became their first captain in seven decades to lift a major domestic trophy after they defeated Liverpool in the 2025 Carabao Cup final.

So, a Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson swap deal between Crystal Palace and Everton has been agreed.
While we wait for more updates, let's remind ourselves of the confirmed transfers which happened over the weekend.
For most of last season, David Moyes set Everton up with Dwight McNeil on the right and Iliman Ndiaye on the left.
With McNeil on his way to Palace and Al Hilal expressing interest in Ndiaye, Moyes’ starting wide players on opening day could look completely different.
Jack Grealish impressed across his 22 games played during a loan spell from Manchester City last season, making a strong impact in the first half of the campaign before a foot injury in January ended his season. A possible return remains uncertain.
Moyes still has a few internal options.
Tyler Dibling, who joined Everton for £40m from Southampton last summer, had a transitional season spent largely in the wilderness at Everton, starting only four Premier League games and was overlooked by the arrival of Jack Grealish.
Everton could also start Tyrique George, who joined from Chelsea for £24m after a successful loan spell on Merseyside last season.
George made 11 appearances for Everton, starting once, but impressed manager David Moyes, who called him an "excellent boy with an excellent work-rate" at the end of his initial four-month spell at the club.
Merlin Rohl, who also played a handful of games out-wide, could be an option for Moyes.

Everton Fan, can’t help but feel this is an amazing deal for us, not sure what Palace are thinking!

Brennan Johnson has been dreadful for us since signing but the swap deal feels like a bad business move considering we paid £35m for him in January. I’m not totally convinced the Dwight McNeil is much better either. Feels like a bad move for both clubs right now.

As an Everton fan I’m pleased with Johnson, yes he isn’t top level but he has shown he can be a threat at PL level. I think it’s good for both clubs and both players (both players seem to have the fans on their backs). Wish them both well

Brennan Johnson scored the winning goal for Tottenham in their 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in May 2025.
And before his move to Spurs, Johnson played in every game in Nottingham Forest's return to the Premier League in 2022–23 as they avoided relegation.
But in January, Johnson moved to Palace in a £35m deal and failed to score in 26 appearance for the Eagles in all competitions, which included 13 starts in the Premier League.

Toffees' winger Dwight McNeil, 26, nearly moved to Selhurst Park at the start of February when Palace agreed a loan-to-buy deal, which would have turned into a £20m permanent move this summer.
However, the transfer fell through as the required paperwork could not be completed in time, even though McNeil had already passed a medical.
In a social media post, his partner Megan Sharpley had been critical of Palace, writing on Instagram: "We live in a world where everyone is aware of how big a problem mental health is.
"So, in football, why do we find it acceptable because these young men are on a lot of money and that's OK to mess and toy with their mental health and that it's just part of the job?
"To have something promised to you, to have been dragged along on an emotional rollercoaster and to be toyed with until the final minute. For that to be torn away from you at the last second with absolutely no explanation has hurt more than I can say."
But the deal has been revived, with Brennan Johnson now involved in the exchange.
