Following their 2-1 win at St James’ Park in September, Arsenal are looking to complete the league double over Newcastle for the first time since 2020-21.

Newcastle are winless in their last 13 Premier League away games against Arsenal (D1 L12), and have scored just one goal in their last nine visits to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have scored 99 Premier League goals against Newcastle. They’ve already netted 100 against Everton, West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, and could be the third team to reach triple figures against five different opponents in the competition, after Manchester United (6) and Liverpool (5).

Arsenal have lost their last two Premier League matches, losing 2-1 against both Bournemouth and Manchester City. They haven’t lost three league games in a row since April 2022, which was also the last time they went 1-0 down in three games consecutively.

Newcastle United have lost eight of their last 11 Premier League matches (W3), with no side losing more than the Magpies since the start of that run on 25th January.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s lowest points per game ratio in a Premier League month (5+ games played) is in April, winning 40 points in 27 games (1.48). 18% of all their league defeats under Arteta have come in April (9 out of 51).

Newcastle’s last nine Premier League matches have either been won (3) or lost (6) by exactly one goal. In top-flight history, there’s only been three occasions a team had 10+ successive games settled by exactly one goal – Everton between October and December 1911 (10), West Ham between December 1964 and February 1965 (10), and Southampton in March and April 1992 (12).

In all competitions, Arsenal have lost four of their last six games (W1 D1), more than in their previous 52 matches combined (W39 D10 L3).

Arsenal have a 73% win ratio (16 wins in 22 games) and average 2.36 points per game with Bukayo Saka in the starting XI this season in the Premier League. Without him, their win percentage drops to 45% (5 wins in 11) and their points per game is 1.64.

William Osula has scored in five Premier League matches for Newcastle United, but has ended on the losing side in three of them (60%). He’s the only player to score in as many as five games in the competition for the Magpies but end on the losing side in more than half of them.
