Oldham Athletic have signed Southend United wing-back Gus Scott-Morriss on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old scored 45 goals in 162 National League appearances for the Shrimpers.

He netted the winning penalty as Southend beat Wealdstone in the FA Trophy final at Wembley earlier this month in his final match for the Roots Hall side.

"I'll bring lots of energy, hopefully lots of output and I'll try to get a few goals and assists - but I'm a team player, I want to win," Scott-Morriss told the League Two club's website., external

"We want to get out of this division, the gaffer [Micky Mellon] made it clear to me that is what we want to do."

Oldham finished 10th, 10 points adrift of the play-off positions, in 2025-26, their first season back in the Football League after three years in the National League.

Scott-Morriss' deal has the option of a further year, although Oldham have not revealed whether it is in their favour of that of the player.
