Forest Green Rovers have signed 19-year-old midfielder Preston Fearon from West Ham United on a one-month loan deal.
Rovers, who are seventh in the National League having won four of their opening seven league matches, are set to lose a number of players during the forthcoming international break and have been on the lookout for loan additions.
Fearon, who has been capped by England Under-20s, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Irons but has been granted the opportunity to experience first-team football in Gloucestershire - though Forest Green were not his only option.
"We're very fortunate," manager Savage told BBC Radio Gloucestershire before the deal was confirmed. "We have four internationals, which is unprecedented at our level.
"We needed a player in and, luckily for us, Preston Fearon from West Ham has chosen us.
"He had an opportunity with other clubs, but again it just goes to show what we can do here with young players. He'll be great for us over the next one to three months.
"He'll bring energy, he'll bring creativity, he'll bring skill, he'll bring work ethic. For him, it's his first senior football in terms of loans."
