    Remco Evenepoel has done it again!

    The Belgian rider wins his fourth time trial world title in a row with a dominant performance in Montreal.

    Evenepoel comes home in a time of 44:53:13, nearly a minute ahead of Italy's silver medalist Filippo Ganna (45:50:44) with France's Paul Seixas (46:06:17) third.

    Switzerland's Marlen Reusser successfully defends the title she won in Kigali in 2025, winning the women's time trial on her birthday with a time of 50:24.

    Great Britain's Zoe Backstedt does brilliantly to clinch silver, coming home in 51 minutes and four seconds to become just the third British woman to win a world championship medal in the time trial.

    Franziska Kock of Germany finishes third to round out the podium.

    Tom Pidcock and Zoe Backstedt will lead Great Britain's challenge at the 2026 Road World Championships.

    The races for the coveted rainbow jerseys take place in Montreal, Canada, from 20-27 September, live across the BBC.

    The championships include both the road race and time trial disciplines, with Pinarello Q36.5's Pidcock leading the men's team in the road race, while Ethan Hayter races in the men's time trial.

    Lauren Dickson and Pfeiffer Georgi will likely lead the women's team in the road race and Zoe Backstedt will be expected to contend for the rainbow bands in the time trial.
