More from West Indies captain Hayley Matthews, speaking about Deandra Dottin crying towards the end: "Dee is passionate and cares a lot and she's extremely competitive. She wants to do it for the team and she was unlucky today with some things and because she cares so much it breaks her when she can't do what she wants for the team."

West Indies captain Hayley Matthews: "That was a close game but I'm glad we got over the line. They bowled some good areas and cramped us for room. We struggled to find other options but Staf made a difference, and did so by playing some classical cricket shots.

"We noticed spin was the key to go with and wanted to get spin into the game as quickly as possible. Campbelle was 50-50 to play today because of sickness and we have to manage Chinelle."

Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce: "At the start of the day, you would have taken chasing that total. The position we got them in, we probably let it slip a bit in the end."

"We'd been really on it with our lines and lengths and probably misexecuted a couple of times and it probably had a knock on effect on the fielding as well."

On Saturday's match against England: "The fans have been out in full force. There was a lot of noise out there and there will be even more people out there on Saturday night."

They can't get too emotional because they've got a huge game here on Saturday. They could and should have won but Stafanie Taylor has won the game for West Indies. Ultimately they just have to get on with it.

I'm going to call it - I think Scotland could push New Zealand really hard in this tournament.

It wasn't pretty from West Indies at times but a fine performance from Stafanie Taylor managed to get them out of trouble.

A shout out to Hayley Matthews (3-19) for doing the business with the ball after a blistering start by Scotland's openers.

But in the end a brave innings by Darcey Carter - who battled what appeared to be an ankle injury for a lot of her knock - was not enough for a famous Scottish win.

Player of the match Stafanie Taylor: "I never like being on the sidelines so it's nice to be fit going into this game. I was due to bat at five but because of the situation, we people I was batting with, if we could get one or two boundaries that would stand us in good stead."

Stafanie Taylor is rightly player of the match - it was some performance with the bat (47* off 19 balls).

CH: So unlucky for Scotland for Carter to pick up that injury. West Indies lucked out.

As a game of cricket, that was an absolute hoot.

I know Scotland are upset and disappointed but come Saturday night against England, they'll be up for it.

That was horrific - one of the Scotland assistant coaches was giggling and, remember, net run-rate could come into this with these two teams [for a place in the semi-finals].

  15. Sco 145-9published at 19.5 overs

Gabriella Fontenla takes advantage of more sloppy fielding from West Indies for two. But, barring any extras, it's game over. Nine needed from one.

What an over from Alleyne - three wickets in the over! West Indies think they have won this game now and they're probably right.
