Ireland have a great chance to win their first T20 against New Zealand - 140 is an OK score.

At the toss they'd have been hoping to keep New Zealand under 160.

They'll just be thinking about whether they could have attacked more from 10-3.

  2. 6 runs

    NZ 140-6published at 20 overs

Well, that's the way to finish. Suzie Bates pulls the final delivery for six. The first maximum of the New Zealand innings.

Ireland will need 141 runs to win. Doable, but will they do it?

  3. NZ 134-6published at 19.5 overs

Suzie Bates makes some space and hits it into the leg side for two.

  4. NZ 132-6published at 19.4 overs

Superb bowling. A yorker and just the one conceded.

  5. NZ 131-6published at 19.3 overs

Jess Kerr goes down the ground and they run two.

  6. NZ 129-6published at 19.2 overs

The wicketkeeper is up to the stumps. Suzie Bates goes for the ramp shot and it comically falls by Amy Hunter's feet. She had no idea where the ball was.

  7. NZ 128-6published at 19.1 overs

How big will New Zealand go here? It's going to be hard to get Orla Prendergast away. They need Suzie Bates on strike.

  8. NZ 126-6published at 19 overs

Suzie Bates adjusts her body and plays a cheeky reverse-pull type shot for four.

I am hugely impressed by the Ireland bowling. Anything that New Zealand have done to move around the crease, they have just followed them really well. They should be really proud of their bowling and fielding effort.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.4 overs

    Sharp c Prendergast b Kelly 36 (NZ 121-6)

But Ireland find a wicket. Izzy Sharp advances down the wicket and finds the fielder at long-off. A simple enough grab at head height.

  11. NZ 121-5published at 18.3 overs

Solid running between Suzie Bates and Izzy Sharp for two, but they can't find the boundaries.

Ireland have been fantastic. They have been so disciplined.

  13. NZ 118-5published at 18 overs

Despite the disappointment of the dropped catch, that's a brilliant over by Orla Prendergast. Just seven runs conceded. She's been so good today.

  14. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 17.3 overs

    NZ 114-5

Orla Prendergast is back into the attack and should have her third wicket.

Izzy Sharp finds the fielder in the deep but Rebecca Stokell - with the sun in her eyes - can't hold on.

  15. NZ 111-5published at 17 overs

New batter Suzie Bates is off the mark with a single. Important few overs coming up - how many can New Zealand get?

Trying to hit the Ireland spinners is quite tricky because they don't give you much pace on the ball. Brooke Halliday is someone who wants pace on the ball because she's really clever.

Nobody has looked pleased on this pitch yet. The evidence would suggest it is a bit slower than we think.

Brooke Halliday just never quite got going. She looks a frustrated figure as she trudges off.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.4 overs

    Halliday c Maguire b Murray 34 (NZ 110-5)

The partnership is broken. Brooke Halliday sweeps straight into the hands of Aimee Maguire at short fine-leg.

Halliday has been far from fluent today and this dismissal pretty much sums up her night, as Cara Murray picks up her second wicket.

  19. Postpublished at 19:38 BST

A break in play as Brooke Halliday is being seen by the New Zealand physio. Not quite sure why, but she seems OK to carry on.

    As you were.

It is definitely time to kick on for New Zealand now. Ireland will be delighted that the past two overs have gone for seven each.
