    Wyatt-Hodge c Mandhana b Charani 29 (Eng 57-2)

Just as they were getting going...

Danni Wyatt-Hodge aims straight again but this time slices her drive to short third. Smriti Mandhana takes a smart catch high above her head as she leaps.

Here's that dropped catch Sophia Dunkley failed to take advantage of. A rare error from Jemimah Rodrigues.

  3. Eng 56-1published at 8 overs

    Wyatt-Hodge 29, Jones 14

The 50 is up as Amy Jones sweeps Deepti Sharma for four. Her and Danni Wyatt-Hodge, two of the quicker players in this XI, then sprint to get back for four.

It's simmering but yet to really reach a boil.

I think it's such a brave move to have mid-off up for Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Amy Jones, two players who love to go down the ground on the off side.

When I used to bowl to these two players I'd have a long-off and a deep mid-wicket.

  5. Eng 47-1published at 7 overs

One thing in Sophia Dunkley's favour is she scored a fine hundred when England traveled to South Africa for their intra-squad matches earlier this year. That's not included in those figures below from Ben given it wasn't a proper international.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Amy Jones add a bit more thrust in this over by finding the off side boundary.

Sophia Dunkley is having a rough year. From her five T20Is in 2026 she's averaging only 16.50, her lowest average for a calendar year in this format.

I'd have liked England to have gone at least sevens in the powerplay.

  8. Eng 34-1published at 6 overs

Even with that four, England only take 34 from the powerplay at less than a run a ball.

I love that from Danni Wyatt-Hodge when she's playing that shot.

    Better.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge skips down to lift the ball over extra cover.

If boundaries are hard to come by then they've got to try and rotate the strike. England in these two series have had a lack of boundaries in the powerplay.

  12. Eng 28-1published at 5 overs

That wicket brings Amy Jones to the middle. Jones was the only batter to impress on Thursday night and if effectively guaranteed her place as England's wicketkeeper.

A single first ball gives Danni Wyatt-Hodge the strike back and the veteran squeezes a gliding cut through a tight gap for four. Nice shot.

Sophia Dunkley looked at the umpire like she thought she might get away with it. Those Puss in Boots eyes.

Nandni Sharma's added a little bit of pressure in her previous over, but that one needed to be hit. Sophia Dunkley's lack of form for England continues, right off the bottom of the bat.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.1 overs

    Dunkley c Ghosh b Nandani 10 (Eng 21-1)

Ah. Sophia Dunkley cannot capitalise on her life. Her struggles go on.

It's not a great ball from Nandani Sharma - one that's there for Dunkley to cut. She throws the kitchen sink at it but gets a thin edge through to the wicketkeeper.

  16. Eng 21-0published at 4 overs

    Dunkley 10, Wyatt-Hodge 9

Tammy Beaumont strikes at 110.08 in her T20 internationals. I'm not sure she would solve the problems England have, Che.

Some good Indian fielding in this over denies Danni Wyatt-Hodge her first boundary. She has looked a touch rusty so far.

Che Seabourne: I’m a Notts member - so admittedly I am biased - but Tammy Beaumont has been going great guns recently for the Blaze at the top of the order. Hits lots of sixes too! Jettisoned too soon? I think so.

  18. Eng 14-0published at 3 overs

    Dunkley 9, Wyatt-Hodge 3

Dunkley fails to find the middle at the end of the over as Arundhati Reddy pushes one a little wide but she must be feeling so much better after that six.

Much better from Sophia Dunkley, in her slot. Mid-on and mid-off are inside the circle, she knows that even if plugs she's going to get two or three for it. It's not even come off the middle of the bat.

    Eng 13-0published at 2.2 overs

    Here we go.

Sophia Dunkley gets down on one knee and whacks a bit of a slog over mid-wicket.
