Summary

Have your say on England women this summer

  1. Ind 218-5published at 54 overs

Tammy Beaumont is in on the action again. Deepti Sharma strides forward to Mady Villiers and Beaumont takes a diving catch at silly point. Another unconvincing appeal but no bat involved.

Mady Villiers looks very comfortable in this team. Her fielding is also outstanding. I think she has put her hand up and it will be difficult for management to ignore. Exciting.

  3. Ind 215-5published at 53 overs

    Sharma 15, Ghosh 2

Lauren Filer has deserved than her sole wicket today. She's generally been on the money but is wayward with her line and Deepti Sharma helps it down to the fine-leg boundary for four.

A controlled pull down to the square-leg boundary has Tammy Beaumont doing a full length drive to make a fine stop.

    Eight from the over.

  4. Ind 207-5published at 52 overs

The players are back out there. Deepti Sharma sweeps Mady Villiers for four and then there is half-hearted lbw shout which England, wisely, decide not to review.

England typically concede 3.40 runs per over in the first 50 overs when bowling in the first innings of a Test match. Australia (2.73) and India (2.75) are generally more economical from the get go when they bowl first.

Two big wickets in that session, both the set batters. India will still feel they are ahead in this race, putting up more than 200 runs inside around 50 overs.

Deepti Sharma is tailored towards this format, loves digging her heels in so she'll have a big role for India now.

    Thanks, Mike.

Cor, that really was a beautiful delivery from Mady Villiers on the stroke of tea. England will be on a high heading into the final session, hoping for some quick wickets.

England's session - they haven't fully stopped the flow of runs, but they've slowed India considerably and taken the two key wickets of Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur.

Here's Kal Sajad to take you through the next part of the day.

Excellent delivery from Villiers, completely foxed Harmanpreet Kaur. She had no answers whatsoever for that ball, plenty of revs on that delivery.

She's done a good job at laying down the platform for India.

    Lovely delivery!

Mady Villiers bags her first wicket in Test cricket, and it's the India captain.

In the last scheduled over before tea, Harmanpreet Kaur is bowled through the gate on the drive, with Villiers' delivery turning sharply having pitched outside off.

We'll take the break now - we've had 80 runs from 26.2 overs this afternoon, with two wickets.

India's 200 has been made up of 25 fours and one six. 18 of those fours and the six came before lunch.

  13. Eng 202-4published at 51 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur brings up India's 200, taking a single into mid-wicket.

Deepti Sharma then sends Sophie Ecclestone out to the ropes at backward square, where Mady Villiers does some good work to stop the four.

We've bowled six overs since 15:00 BST.

I think 100 was always optimistic.

  15. Ind 199-4published at 50 overs

Just the second maiden of the day, as Deepti Sharma can't get Mady Villiers away.

Sophie Ecclestone is going to change ends to come on with the Pavilion at her back.

No, snicko says there was nothing on the bat.

A bit of a bread and butter stroke from Deepti Sharma.

  18. England reviewpublished at 15:31 BST

England go up on the appeal from the first ball after the break!

Deepti Sharma drops to a knee trying to sweep Mady Villiers and Amy Jones gathers well, low down the leg side.

Nat Sciver-Brunt asks a few questions of her team and then signals for a review.

Harmanpreet Kaur has been nursing knee injuries which is why she usually sits out in the first games of series and tournaments.

Hmm, Harmanpreet Kaur needs more treatment - it's cramp this time.

Numerous sub fielders come on with drinks, with the whole England team gathering for refreshment.

We're under 15 minutes from tea.
