    England's morning you would say.

I'm off for a bite to eat myself.Thankfully, Mike Peter is suitably replenished and will guide you through the lunch interval and beyond.

  2. New Zealand 417-7 at lunchpublished at 13:05 BST

Tom Blundell manages to negotiate the final three balls of the session from Josh Tongue.

The England seamer strikes Blundell on the pad with his penultimate delivery, slanted across him and there's an appeal but it clearly would have been going down leg so it's not pursued any further.

Some would say it’s not relevant, but have we spoken about how much Tom Blundell looks like Ricky Gervais under the helmet. Uncanny.

    Tom, London

  4. NZ 417-7published at 107.3 overs

Brendon McCullum pushes the aerial of his walkie talkie against his lips on the England balcony.

Nathan Smith works Josh Tongue off his pads for a single into the leg side.

England unhappy with the ball, which does not go through the respective gauge, so we have a slight delay as its changed.

  5. NZ 416-7published at 107 overs

Tom Blundell content to defend and leave Ben Stokes in what will be the penultimate over before the interval.

Time for one before the clocks strikes one.

Josh Tongue has bowled nicely today but he just hasn't managed to get one of those breakthroughs.

  7. NZ 416-7published at 106 overs

I guess had the Mitchell Santner decision been not out by standing the umpire, was there conclusive evidence to overturn that hypothetical call to give it out?

In legal terms, we are looking at the balance of probabilities.

Nathan Smith in watchful mode as we edge close to the lunch break. He plays out a maiden over from Josh Tongue.

With Regards the Mitchell Santner dismissal, the umpire gave it out on the field, there was inconclusive evidence to overturn the decision.

    Jamie, Northumberland

Think people are missing a key point here; the on-field umpire gave it out. The footage does not conclusively give the third umpire a reason to overturn the on-field decision.

    Steven, Liverpool

  9. NZ 416-7published at 105 overs

Ben Stokes angles a short ball into the hips of Tom Blundell but the Kiwi wicketkeeper is unable to make clean contact with his pull shot.

Stokes appeals with his final delivery of the over on a similar line which brushes the thigh pad of Blundell on the way through to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith. But's more a polite enquiry.

Meanwhile, Steven Finn is currently on all fours with his head pressed up to a fan in an attempt to "dry my ear out".

  11. NZ 415-7published at 104 overs

    Josh Tongue into the attack.

Tom Blundell unfurls an expansive drive to a wider delivery from the Nottinghamshire seamer but does not connect.

    Tongue starts with six dots.

Gus Atkinson has found the least seam movement this morning. He is averaging 0.3°, while the rest of the England's seamers are averaging 0.5° or more.

  13. NZ 415-7published at 103 overs

The third umpire was a "little quick on the trigger finger" says Mark Butcher on Sky Sports, although more analysis from the broadcaster seems to back up it did brush the wristband on Mitchell Santer's glove.

Ben Stokes concedes a couple of runs off his latest over then dashes off the field for a few moments.

That Mitchell Santner dismissal is a joke, not even remotely close to his hand.

    Em, Scotland

Is it out if it hits the arm guard but the armguard is overlapping the glove cuff?

    Trev, Somerset

Looked not out but it’s about time we had a bit of luck.

    Nigel, Harrogate

  15. NZ 413-7published at 102 overs

Has the third umpire not done his due diligence here and looked at all angles before making the decision?

The front-on angle looked fairly conclusive but was actually deceptive as it where it actually hit Mitchell Santner with the camera from side on.

Gus Atkinson follows up that over from Ben Stokes with a maiden.

Test Match Special commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

From the replay it's hit his arm guard. UltraEdge has betrayed Mitchell Santner there.

Hmmm. Might be a bit of debate about this one.

Initial replays front one appear to show it has brushed the top of wrist trap on Mitchell Santer's gloves.

However, a TV replay from another angle seem to show it hit the arm guard - which is more pronounced - first.

    Michael Vaughan
Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special

I wonder if it's hit the sweatband of the glove...

  19. New Zealand reviewpublished at 101 overs

Mitchell Santner turns head away to a Ben Stokes bouncer as he takes evasive action and it seems to brush his the glove on the way through to Jacob Bethell at gully.

Given out on field, but Santner reviews it.

  20. NZ 413-6published at 100.2 overs

Nicely played by Mitchell Santner, who gets off the mark by opening the face to Ben Stokes and guiding him down to third which, as we know, is always vacant.
