  3. A heavyweight banger in Britainpublished at 15:02 BST 7 May

After all the noise around Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua recently, Fabio Wardley v Daniel Dubois has slipped slightly under the radar a little but it shouldn’t have.

Two Britons fighting for a heavyweight world title in Manchester. That’s a big deal. With a combined knockout record of 95%, the tagline 'don’t blink' is justified.

And if you zoom out a bit… there’s a real chance Fury and Joshua both walk away after their proposed fight later this year. If that happens, these two - along with the likes of Moses Itauma and whoever else emerges - are lining up to carry British heavyweight boxing for the next few years.

  4. No party this timepublished at 15:00 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

    Remember partygate?

The aftermath of Daniel Dubois' defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in July blew up after it was revealed that a party was held at his home on the day of the fight.

Dubois at the fight around 20:15 BST - less than two hours before his ringwalk.

He joked that they would "have a bigger party this time" before insisting the previous gathering had no influence on his performance against Usyk.

"It wasn't why I lost," Dubois said.

"I went up against one of the greatest fighters of this generation and I'm glad I have the experience of sharing the ring with him twice."

  5. A risky fight for both menpublished at 14:59 BST 7 May

Credit to both men for actually taking this fight.

Fabio Wardley could easily have gone safer for his first world title defence, but that’s not really his style. He had no amateur background and is still learning on the job, despite being a world champion, but he’s not here for soft touches.

Daniel Dubois could've gone the same route too. After losing to Oleksandr Usyk last summer, plenty would've rebuilt gently, picked up a couple of confidence fights. Not Dubois. His record says he wants the hard nights.

Pundits are split, fans are split and even fellow fighters are split. That usually tells you you’ve got the right fight.

I do love the build-up to a big fight. You never know what you're going to get.

Fabio Wardley offers the fist bump but Daniel Dubois' back is already turned as he makes his way off stage.

It's been a bit of a theme that Wardley has been the friendlier of the two when they've met up.

  14. 'I'm going to clear him out'published at 14:43 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Fabio Wardley on how he will win on Saturday: "I'll win by knockout. I'll go in there, provide entertainment and value for money for the fans. He is getting knocked out. I've done that to 95% of my opponents and he's just another one on the list.

"I'm going to clear him out. There will be no questions about it. I will land clean, land sharp and get him out of there.

"I hope he's happy and healthy and that camp has gone well, he's fresh and happy with life - they're all ticks for me. I hope it's the same for him, so let's get it on and fight."

Daniel Dubois on how he wins on Saturday: "I win by any means necessary. That's it. I'm here for business. Let's fight."

  16. 'It's highly unlikely this fight goes the distance'published at 14:41 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Don Charles, the trainer of Daniel Dubois, says: "I believe in my fighter, I always have done and what this young man has achieved is remarkable. He will make history on Saturday night.

"It says 'Don't Blink' and there is a reason for that title - they both hold the same knockout ratio. It's highly unlikely this fight goes the distance."

  17. 'Dubois will win by knockout'published at 14:40 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Fabio Wardley's manager Michael Ofo and now Daniel Dubois' agent Sam Jones are going at it. It's almost as if these two are getting in the ring.

Jones says: "You're not going to get a David Haye-style sales pitch from Daniel but you look at his resume and one of the best in the division. You're going to get a violent performance from Daniel.

"In the build up they have asked him some stupid questions and you're not going to get sales pitches from him but you will get a heavyweight title-winning performance from him on Saturday."

Ofo responds: "We can't trust anything that Sam says. This is the same guy who called him a quitter previously."

Jones comes back in: "I've said a lot of things. I've been in the game a lot longer than you.

"All that matters is Daniel Dubois is going to win. I like Fabio Wardley, I won't dig him out. I come in peace. You're a bag carrier. Dubois will win by knockout and afterwards, me and Fabio will go for dinner and discuss Lord of the Rings."

There was also some debate over whether Ofo is actually Fabio Wardley's manager - it's getting feisty.

  18. Dubois has 'walked out of loads of interviews this week'published at 14:36 BST 7 May

Daniel Dubois has faced some stick this week for how he conducted himself in a few interviews. We think it's a bit of a storm in a teacup, but Fabio Wardley's manager Michael Ofo is talking about it now.

"He's walked out of loads of interviews this week. I don't class that as a complete professional athlete. I know Riz has got a lot of experience in childcare previously, so him being a carer up here has probably helped.

"He's not been professional throughout the week, Fabio has been professional - we've turned up on time for all our obligations and done what is required.

"In terms of the fight, it's going to be an amazing fight while it lasts. I expect Daniel to be the warrior that he is. But I think Fabio is the bigger stronger man in the ring and will stop him."

  19. 'Foolish for Team Wardley to underestimate'published at 14:34 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Daniel Dubois' manager Riz Khan said: "I've been working with Daniel now for two years and I've seen a dedicated professional who has been on point with training, diet, nutrition and everything else.

"From the age of eight, this young man has been in the gym with his father developing as a talented athlete. One question that riles me and I don't know why the media push on Daniel's temperament and mindset, but what I've seen in he last five years he has lost to one generational great in (Oleksandr) Usyk.

"When it comes to temperament and that passion and drive, Daniel goes through the trenches. It would be foolish for Team Wardley to underestimate. When it comes to fight night on Saturday you will see something different.

"Daniel is going to show the rest of the world that he's ready to take more titles after this one."

  20. 'Fight of the year'published at 14:31 BST 7 May

    Wardley v Dubois

Frank Warren speaks of his excitement surrounding this fight: "It's not an old guy fighting a young guy - they are in their prime. They turned professional on the same day and it's quite unusual for this to happen at this stage of their careers.

"It's going to be an amazing atmosphere at a great venue and it will be something special.

"I've promoted fights for nearly 49 years now, this fight excites me. It will be the fight of the year. It will be one of those that people speak about for years to come."
