Barega, who was Olympic champion in the distance on the track at Tokyo 2020, won last year's men's race in 27 minutes and 49 seconds.
Two Brits were able to crack the men's top 10 in 2025, with England's Alfie Manthorpe fifth and Welshman Dewi Griffiths in eighth.

Whilst British athletes Amy-Eloise Neale and Verity Ockenden finished seventh and ninth respectively.

10km runners will go past Manchester United's Old Trafford, whilst half marathon runners will see both the red and blue sides of Manchester, travelling past both Old Trafford and Manchester City's Etihad Stadium en route to the finish line.
With the finish line on Manchester's Deansgate.
