O'Connor headlines six-strong NI athletics team

World outdoor silver medallist Kate O'Connor has been named in Northern Ireland's athletics team for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Heptathlete O'Connor, who won silver at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo last year, is competing in her third Commonwealth Games and won silver at the last games in Birmingham four years ago.
The 25-year-old has gone on to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris and won four medals in 2025, including a gold medal at the World University Games and bronze at the European Indoor Championships.
Anna McCauley, who finished sixth in the heptathlon in Birmingham, will return for her second Games.
Middle distance runner Nick Griggs, who won the Irish senior title in March, has been selected for his first Commonwealth Games alongside fellow debutants Callum Morgan and James Gormley.
Griggs will compete in the 5000m or mile while Morgan will also be in the 5000m and Gormley in the mile race.
Para athlete Eva Walsh Dann will go to her second Games and will compete in the 100 metres and long jump.
