CSV Action at BBC Radio Sheffield offers free media training for voluntary, community and faith groups in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

The courses have proved very useful to local groups and charities who are without professional press or communications officers.

What the course covers

• how to deal with the print and broadcast media
• how to write effective press releases
• developing media interview techniques
• tips on how the media works
• useful audio case studies from successful community groups
• 'Mock' interviews pre-recorded and 'as live'

A free 'Using the Media' information pack is also available.

The course is very informal and normally runs at the BBC Radio Sheffield Open Centre, from 4.00pm until 7.00pm and ends with a studio tour (unless stated otherwise.) It can also be offered for your group or organisation at your venue by arrangement.

* Please note: These courses are not for commercial or statutory bodies. You must be part of a voluntary sector organization, community group or charity to enrol. For commercial organisations media training can be provided by CSV Broadcast subject to a negotiated fee.
