Richard Moss

Richard is the BBC’s political editor for the North East and Cumbria, and presents Politics North each Sunday on BBC1. He has been reporting in the region for more than 30 years and grew up in Cockermouth in Cumbria. He is an award-winning presenter who has interviewed seven prime ministers (and counting) as well as a huge range of regional and national politicians. As a child, he would watch political programmes and imagine being the interviewer. But it was failing to be elected to his school council that drove him to exact decades of revenge on politicians by asking the tricky questions they would rather not answer. He has a passion for the people and places in his region, as well as cats and cricket.
