Alternative Commentary (Audio Description) for the FA Cup Final

For the FA Cup Final on BBC One and BBC One HD, we’re trialling a different type of Audio Description (AD) to improve the experience.

What is changing?

When Audio Description is turned on, you’ll hear commentary from BBC Radio 5 Live instead of the usual TV commentary during the match. Commentary will revert to the BBC One audio during half time and after the match. If during the match you would like to revert back to BBC One audio, switch off AD.

For instruction on how to enable AD, please refer to our help site article.

Troubleshooting

Viewers who don’t want radio commentary should switch Audio Description (AD) off.

Some Freeview and Youview receivers may not fade main audio correctly, resulting in both TV and radio commentary being heard together. In this case, turn AD off. If using BBC One SD, switching to BBC One HD may also resolve the issue.

If AD is removed due to operational issues, audio may be faint or silent. Changing channel and back again will restore sound.
