Last Thursday at a conference called ‘What Makes Learning Exciting?’, hosted by the National College for School Leardership and the National Education Trust, 150 ten year-olds had their say on the government review of the primary curriculum, producing a Children’s Charter. What do the children think they should be learning?

Educating Against Extremism
Last week, as part of the government’s Prevent plan, the Schools Secretary, Ed Balls, revealed government guidance to schools, the police and local authorities on how they can work together to combat terrorism: young people should have a strong sense of citizenship, a stake in society and be equipped to challenge extremist messages.
