Iran hits Gulf sites as US and Israel bomb Iran

US and Israeli planes are continuing to pound Iran.

The US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth, has said the US is carrying out a devastating mission in Iran aimed at destroying its missiles, its navy and its nuclear ambitions. He said it would not be an endless war, but refused to give a timeframe. Meanwhile, US and Israeli planes are continuing to pound Iran, with huge explosions heard in the Iranian capital. In response, Iranian drones and missiles are continuing to strike America's regional allies.

We get the latest from our correspondents in Israel and the US.

Colleagues from BBC Persian and BBC Verify will explain what they have been able to uncover about the situation inside Iran.

We also hear from ordinary Israelis and Iranians living abroad about how the war is affecting their lives and those of their families.
