United States strikes military targets on Kharg island

Lebanon says more than 800 people have been killed since conflict began

The Lebanese health ministry says medical personnel have been killed in an Israeli strike on a primary healthcare centre in the south of the country. The ministry says it was the second Israeli attack on the health sector within hours, with an earlier strike killing two paramedics. Lebanon says more than eight hundred people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since the conflict began two weeks ago, two hundred of them children.

Also in the programme: we hear from a Russian diplomat on the easing of sanctions; and an Egyptian view on the war in the Middle East.

Joining our presenter Julian Worricker to discuss these stories and more are Ellie Geranmayeh, a senior policy fellow and deputy head of the Middle East and North Africa programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations, and Alistair Burt, former Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in the UK.
