Israel launches deadly strikes on Beirut

Israel has stepped up air and ground attacks against Hezbollah.

Israel has launched a series of deadly strikes in central Beirut and ordered mass evaucations in southern Lebanon, as it ramps up its air and ground offensive against Hezbollah. We bring you the latest.

Iran's army chief has warned of a "decisive" response after the country's Security Chief, Ali Larijani, was killed in an Israeli strike. He was overseeing Iran's military response, and was regarded by many as someone the US could eventually do a deal with.

President Zelensky has warned that the conflict in the Middle East may mean there is a shortage of missiles for his fight against Russia. Speaking to the BBC, Mr Zelensky said President Trump's only priority for the war in Ukraine was to stop it, not to defend Kyiv from its aggressor.

The Senegalese football federation says it will appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, after the country was stripped of its recent Africa Cup of Nations title over the players' conduct. The Confederation of African Football declared their opponents in the final, Morocco, winners instead.
