CAR: UN retakes town of Bambari from rebels
The United Nations says the town has been retaken after rebels seized it on Tuesday
A spokesperson said UN peacekeepers and national security forces were in control, having pushed the militants back into the bush.
The CAR is due to hold elections on Sunday.
Ugandan Human Rights Attorney, Nicholas Opiyo has been detained by police. Mr Opiyo who has been critical of the government, has been at the forefront of promoting civil liberties in Uganda.
