Nine die after boy picks up discarded grenade

The child, believed to be under ten, mistook the grenade for scrap metal

Twenty-six people were also wounded in the blast on the Nigerian side of the border, a Cameroonian official said.

The coastal city of Sirte has been controlled by forces aligned with Libya's UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) since Islamic State (IS) militants were expelled in 2016.
