
Algerians protest "mediocre" presidential candidates
Algeria is due to vote for a new president in two days
Algerians took to the streets in their thousands to protest what they see as "mediocre" presidential candidates. Presidential elections are due to take place in two days.
Ethiopia's PM Abiy Ahmed is in Norway to receive the Nobel Peace Prize he's won for "his efforts to achieve international peace and co-operation." It is hoped the prestigious award will accelerate the reconciliation process ongoing inside the country and over the borders with its neighbours.
The on going, three year conflict in Cameroon has disrupted education for many children who have had to flee affected areas. UNICEF says 80% of students are out of school in the Anglophone regions because of the conflict.
