
Cameroon President calls for national unity
President Biya calls for dialogue between English and French-speaking Cameroonians
In a rare televised address, Cameroon President Paul Biya has called for unity between English and French speaking Cameroonians.
President Salva Kiir and his political rival, former Vice President and rebel leader Riek Machar, have been meeting to try and find a way forward from five years of civil war that killed almost 400,000 people and displaced millions. Today, in a rare joint statement, they signalled that an agreement may be finally close.
