South Sudan leaders signal possible agreement

South Sudan President Salva Kiir and his arch-rival Riek Machar give rare joint statement

President Salva Kiir and his political rival, former Vice President and rebel leader Riek Machar, have been meeting to try and find a way forward from five years of civil war that killed almost 400,000 people and displaced millions. Today, in a rare joint statement, they signalled that an agreement may be finally close.

The body of President Robert Mugabe has arrived in Zimbabwe, after having been flown from Singapore, where the former leader was undergoing medical treatment.

We speak to one of the scientists who have managed to create two embryos of white rhino in a lab, in an effort to bring the endangered species back from the brink of extinction.
