
Uganda Airlines takes off again
Uganda's national airline restores its services after eighteen years
Uganda Airlines, the country's national carrier, takes off again after having been grounded for eighteen years. Former Ugandan pilot and ex-government official Captain Francis Babu thinks that the new airline can hope for a bright future.
Malawi government has banned all forms of protests in the country. Defending the decision, Communication Minister Mark Botomani says that recent protests "had not been peaceful" leading to government offices being "vandalised" and business disrupted.
By 2030, over half of the world's poor will be made up by African children. This is according to new research from the Overseas Development Institute and Save The Children.
