
South Africans get ready to vote
Twenty six million South Africans are eligible to vote for the 8th May elections
Campaigning is wrapping up but one of the most emotive issues over the past few months has been land reform. The inequality in land ownership in South Africa is stark - the white minority owns more land than the black majority in both urban and rural areas. President Cyril Ramaphosa's governing African National Congress has pledged to conduct land expropriation without compensation but he's reassured investors that productive land won't be taken. But it's being pushed hard by those with a more radical agenda.
Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe meet to discuss the re-opening of the ivory trade.
