
Is the Kenyan police using Facebook to target criminal?
A suspected death squad is using Facebook to target suspected gang members
A suspected death squad allegedly operating within the Kenyan police force is using Facebook to profile, target and kill young men they believe to be gang members. Pictures of these so-called gangsters dead bodies are then being shared again on Facebook in enclosed groups and viewed hundreds of times.
Sudan's ex-President Omar al-Bashir has been taken into Khartoum's Kober Prison, a maximum security jail where until recently he used to lock up political prisoners. We speak to someone who visited the detention centre before, to get a sense of what could be expecting Mr al-Bashir.
We speak to Nobel Peace Prize winner and Liberian peace activist Leymah Roberta Gbowee, who is currently visiting Cameroon. The country has in the last two years witnessed internal disputes between Anglophone and French-speaking territories. Cameroon has also been targeted by Islamic militants Boko Haram, entering from neighbouring Nigeria. Ms Gbowee has been speaking to those affected by the violence, especially women and children, as well as to government officials.
