Sudan army to reopen negotiations

The Transitional Military Council changes strategy again. Now the army says they are willing to "open our arms to negotiate with no restriction but the national interest," in an attempt to find a solution to the stalemate in talks civilians. We hear from a senior member of the civilian-led group Forces for Freedom and Change, Muawiya Shaddad.

Officials say at least six people have been killed and 17 injured following a landslide in the Eastern Ugandan district of Bududa in the early hours of Wednesday morning. It is feared that the death toll could rise as people are still searching for their missing relatives.

The so-called Islamic State group has claimed a presence in Mozambique for the first time. It announced that its militants repelled an army attack in the north of the country. Until now there had been no obvious links between the Mozambican militants and transnational jihadist groups. But how seriously should we take this?
