Protestors show no sign of backing down in Sudan

The Sudanese security forces have fired tear gas at hundreds of demonstrators outside a mosque in the city of Omdurman after Friday prayers as anti-government protests continue. There have also been more demonstrations in parts of the capital, Khartoum, and other cities including Port Sudan and Atbara. In the past week, at least nineteen people have been killed during protests. They were sparked by discontent over the price of bread and fuel, but anger has increasingly been focused on President Omar al-Bashir, who came to power nearly thirty years ago.
