
Nigeria floods claim over a hundreds lives

In Nigeria, heavy raining has caused two of the main rivers in the country to overflow onto villages, killing over a hundred people. One of the worst areas is Lokoja in Kogi state where dozens have died and many homes destroyed. Anambra, Delta and Niger state are also affected by the crisis + The International Criminal Court has upheld the decision to sentence the former vice president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jean-Pierre Bemba, to twelve months in prison for witness tampering + Hundreds march in the Ethiopian capital in protest of the killing of 23 people over the weekend. The violence was attributed to ethnic clashes.
