Lawrence Robb is a Scottish actor best known for playing Mackenzie “Mack” Boyd in ITV soap Emmerdale.
Born in 1991, Lawrence grew up in the small village of Kilmacolm in North Ayrshire alongside his two brothers and sister. He originally trained in musical theatre at The Dance School of Scotland before deciding to focus his career on acting.
Lawrence began acting professionally in 2014 and has since worked across stage and screen. His credits include a role in Billie Piper’s Sky Atlantic series I Hate Suzie, as well as stage productions of Into the Woods, Mojo and Legally Blonde.
In 2020, Lawrence joined the cast of Emmerdale as "Mackenzie Boyd", the brother of established character Moira Dingle. Since arriving in the village, Mack has found himself at the centre of some of the soap’s biggest storylines, from affairs and kidnappings to murder and 2026’s landmark Coronation Street crossover, Corriedale.
Away from Emmerdale, Lawrence is training for his private pilot’s licence and enjoys playing padel, watching Scotland play rugby and spending time with his dog Chile, otherwise known as "Captain Fuzz". He’s also a huge fan of film composer Hans Zimmer and has seen him in concert three times - so a Movie Week routine to one of Zimmer’s famous soundtracks is firmly on his Strictly wish list. And since signing up for the show, Lawrence says his YouTube feed has been taken over by performances from former Emmerdale Strictly stars, so he’s already been doing his homework!
