The Beverley woman who fought in the Third Crusade

Margaret of Beverley was a pilgrim who was swept into the Third Crusade. She fought on Jerusalem’s battlements, endured capture and slavery, escaped multiple times, and lived to tell the tale. Historian Marcus Ramshaw tells us her story.
