Alvechurch's folk star goes global
Meet Katherine Priddy, who's played Glastonbury, The Proms, and had two #1 albums! The Worcestershire artist enchants audiences with soul-stirring melodies and poignant lyrics.
She wowed audiences during the pandemic so much that her first album, 2021's The Eternal Rocks Beneath, topped the Official Folk Albums Chart. Her second, 2024's The Pendulum Swing, did exactly the same.
The musician, who grew up near to Redditch, has propelled herself onto the international stage, culminating in a performance at the prestigious BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall as well as festival appearances as far away as Australia.
We love her music so much, we've passed her tracks to BBC 6Music and BBC Radio 2, where Guy Garvey, Mark Radcliffe, Iggy Pop and Shaun Keaveny are huge fans.
She's been our artist of the week on more than one occasion, and she's recorded incredible sessions, including our virtual Airwaves Festival, with another performance coming at The Hay Festival in 2024.
