Ofsted boss: 'Moral obligation' to keep teachers in UK

Thousands of teachers are being lured abroad with lucrative pay packages as England's schools grapple with a recruitment crisis, Ofsted has warned.

Chief Inspector of Schools in England Sir Michael Wilshaw warned of what he calls a "brain-drain" of teachers.

"We've got over 100,000 English-trained teachers teaching abroad, say mainly in the Middle East, mainly in the Far East," Wilshaw said.

"In many ways that's a great brand but it's taking away teachers from our own state schools."
