Burnham in Berlin for UK-Germany security talks

Today

Available for over a year

The Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, is in Berlin today where the UK and Germany are launching a new partnership to counter cyber-attacks, sabotage and other so-called hybrid threats, which the government says are increasingly being carried out by hostile states, particularly Russia. The agreement will see the two countries share intelligence and coordinate efforts to monitor, deter and disrupt attacks on critical infrastructure and democratic institutions. Mr Burnham and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will also discuss support for Ukraine, instability in the Middle East and ways to boost investment and economic growth as the UK seeks closer cooperation with European partners.
