Razia Iqbal presents two special programmes looking at the best of this year's Hay Festival. Branded by Bill Clinton as 'the Woodstock of the Mind' the Hay Festival of Literature and Arts sees prominent artists, writers and thinkers flock to Wales for one of the world's most prestigious literary gatherings. Celebrating great writing from poets and scientists, lyricists and comedians, novelists and environmentalists highlights from this year's event include a career interview with Nobel laureate Toni Morrison; talks from Judi Dench and Stephen Fry; and a special performance from the world-renowned South African musician Hugh Masakela. This diverse festival, attended by over 250,000 visitors every year, will not only feature writers, such as Hanif Kureishi, Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and scientist Richard Dawkins; but will also include interviews with the likes of actresses Jennifer Saunders and Carrie Fisher, now also a celebrated Hollywood screenwriter, as well as an exclusive masterclass by Basque president Juan Jose Ibarretxe and a lecture by the former Bank of England Governor Mervyn King.
