Julia Jacklin shares the music that has soundtracked her life with Nemone. The Australian singer-songwriter explains why she did things differently when making her latest album, The Gem, how classical singing provided her an escape in her formative years, and why a pair of shoes in Nashville made her question her life as a musician.

Talking to Nemone, who combines her roles of DJ and qualified psychotherapist, Julia dives deep to share her story and the songs that have moved her with music from Doris Day, Bjork and Robyn.

 Julia Jacklin first delighted our ears with songs like Pool Party and Coming Home about a decade ago now. Charting her emotional journey and coming of age through her first three albums, Don't Let The Kids Win, Crushing, and Free Pleasure. For album number four, she holed up in home city Melbourne in her favourite pub, and in this programme reveals why the process was such a positive one.

In this series Nemone also talks in depth to musicians Mark Oliver Everett of Eels, Aja Monet and James Ellis Ford.
