Singer Sabrina Washington makes the Radio 4 Appeal on behalf of PEAS, which stands for “Promoting Equality in African Schools”. The charity's schools are designed to help keep children in education by offering low fees, free lunches and well-being advisors to support students.

The Radio 4 Appeal features a new charity every week.
Each appeal then runs on Radio 4 from Sunday 0754 for 7 days.

For young people growing up in rural communities like this one, secondary school can be a long way from home. PEAS builds schools where the need is greatest, bringing a quality education closer to young people who might otherwise miss out.

From pupil to teacher

From pupil to teacher
Viola now teaches at the school where she was once a student. Her students call her a role model. She wants them to see what she has seen for herself: that education can open up choices for their future.
