The murderer in Corfu claims another victim as Eliot's condition worsens and Susan finds herself under suspicion.
Susan is woken by the arrival of Detective Inspector Blakeney bringing the dreadful news that Eliot has been critically and deliberately injured by a car. But she becomes incredulous when he informs her that she is the main suspect. With Eliot unconscious in hospital, Atticus and Achilles find themselves in limbo.
