Feeding The Flocks

Episode 2 of 5

Chris Baines discovers how gardeners recreate wildlife habitats, including birds of prey, in their domestic gardens. From 2001.

A garden encounter with a sparrowhawk is short and often dramatic as it makes a raid on the bird table, often carrying off one of the birds feeding there.

Chris Baines invites ornithologist Andrew Cannon into his suburban garden to find out how the birds of prey reflect the health of the local bird population.

A series looking at domestic gardens from the point of view of wildlife and how gardeners are recreating habitats for a growing number of animals and birds.
