Episode 13
After losing both parents, a pro-footballer’s daughter calls in JB and JJ to help turn heirlooms into cash for Una’s goal - a dream holiday with her beloved pooch, Patricia.
After losing her Dad while on holiday in 1979, and her Mum Doreen ten years later, Una is ready to find new homes for their possessions. Her Dad, Angus, was a pro-footballer in his day, playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 1940s. Memorabilia from his playing career form a large part of the collection taking up space in Una’s house. She’s enlisted the help of auctioneer JB and restorer JJ to help them uncover any hidden gems amongst the rest of her parent’s possessions in the hope of making enough money at auction for a transatlantic trip to New York with her beloved canine companion, Patricia. Can The Travelling Auctioneers help them set sail?
There’s a challenging repair job for JJ, as he tackles some iconic Ercol chairs. But he’ll need to take care; overdo the stripping and scraping, and he could seriously devalue this potentially lucrative furniture. He also finds a charming 1960s doll's house to fix up along with another of Una’s childhood toys – a push along fox terrier that is in need of some pampering.
JB unearths a host of items including a precious gold Albert chain and a box of sparkling jewellery, along with a pair of medals, some beautiful oak drawers and, of course, Una’s Dad’s football medals, trophies and badges.
But at the auction will JB secure a win for Una and pooch Patricia or will it be a score draw?
