By the end of the 60s, The Doors were in trouble.

The dark sensuality of their early records had largely faded, as Jim Morrison became more and more lost in a world of drink and drugs. With their audience in danger of moving on to new things, The Doors had to go back to the drawing board to keep themselves alive.

With 1970's Morrison Hotel showcasing a revitalised band, and a new bluesier direction, it looked like The Doors were back on track again, delivering one of their strongest albums. And for the follow-up, they delved even deeper into the blues to produce a stone cold classic.

Little did they know that L.A. Woman would be the beginning of the end.
