Masters at Work legend Louie Vega joins Spoony for a chat!
Feel-good tunes to make you groove! Plus, Masters at Work's Louie Vega shares his in and out tracks and news of a new Nuyorican Soul album in the works!
Feel-good favourites, hidden gems and fresh tunes to make you groove. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of soulful house, classic soul, disco, RnB, UK Garage, Reggae, hip-hop, doo-wop, funk, dance remixes, and much more.
In hour 2, Spoony is joined by dance floor legend Louie Vega. The Grammy winner, producer and remixer is one half of the legendary Masters at Work and Nuyorican Soul, alongside his partner-in-crime Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzalez. The pair have worked with everyone from George Benson to Jocelyn Brown, Roy Ayers to Black Thought, and Brian Jackson to Tito Puente, and have remixed tracks for the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Jamiroquai and many, many more. Since 1990 the New Yorkers’ have not just made records, they’ve built foundations by connecting Latin, soul, jazz, disco, hip hop and deep house into something entirely new. Louie sits down with Spoony to share news of a Nuyorican Soul album that's in the works, 30 years after the original was released! He also shares memories of working with Luther Vandross, his love of roller-skating, and news of his first all-nighter set in the UK at London's Outernet. He also shares the tracks he enjoys when he's in-in and out-out.
Spoony wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business!
