The soundtrack to your dreams … with Zakia

DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimension.

In this episode, Zakia celebrates her two special guests, the composer CJ Mirra and pianist and producer Duval Timothy, by pulling out some of her most loved songs from film soundtracks. Including a ballad from one of the first films to introduce western audiences to the beauty of Brazilian music, a dreamy Ennio Morricone piece from the film Grazie Zia, and one from a childhood classic, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and alongside plenty more. Plus, a reissue of some cult New York acid folk, and dreamy new music from Green-House and Coby Sey, .

Also, we hear from pianist and producer Duval Timothy, and composer CJ Mirra, who recently composed the soundtrack for the multi-award winning film, My Father’s Shadow, directed by Akinola Davies Jr. CJ and Duval tell us about the dream worlds of the film, My Father’s Shadow, and about how dreaming shapes their music making. Plus, they tell us about a track each which brings them to a place or time, for The Portal.
