When you want to listen to your favourite music - what are you reaching for?

Before apps like YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music existed, buying the album of an artist was one of the only ways you could listen to the music you liked when you wanted.

An album is a collection of songs released together, in the past that might have been on vinyl, cassette tape or CDs.

Although music technology has moved to digital music streaming, artists still record albums which contain a selection of songs.

On Saturday 17 October, National Album Day hopes to celebrate listening to an artist's full album.

But we want to know - do you ever listen to a full album? Let us know using the poll below and tell us about how you listen to music in the comments.

National Album Day describes albums as a "space for artists to tell their stories".

First launched in 2018, the campaign has had support from BBC Radio 2 and artists like Lewis Capaldi and PinkPanthress.

PinkPantheress said she loves "revisiting albums" at different times of her life.

"Music is experienced in ways that are unique to every listener," she says.

The way we listen to music has changed a lot in the past 10 or so years.

Apps like Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube allow us to easily search for individual songs we like.

We can also make playlists that suit our tastes, which means we may be less likely to listen to an artist's whole album.

But when massive artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish release albums these can also become huge events - with worldwide listening parties and re-releases of bonus material.

So let us know in the comments - do you listen to albums? How do you prefer to listen to music?
