Food truck giving pancakes in exchange for litter

Normally if you want to buy food from a truck like this, you'd need money - but not at this one!
They're accepting rubbish as currency to buy buttery Dutch pancakes.
The WasteBar food truck in the Netherlands hopes the unusual deal will change people's attitude to waste.
The van is often seen at festivals, children's events and business gatherings in the country.

So how much trash do you need to hand over to get some grub?
To get a Poffertje - a Dutch micro-pancake - you would need to hand over 15 pieces of plastic or 20 cigarettes butts.
Drinks will cost you 10 cigarettes butts, and fruits and candies are 15.
A cigarette butt is the end of a cigarette that gets thrown away. They are one of the most common form of plastic waste in the world and can be very difficult to remove from the environment.

Noreen van Holstein is a Dutch entrepreneur who came up with the idea, which she first used in 2019 in Goa in India to try and reduce the amount of litter on the beaches.
After moving back to the Netherlands she launched the WasteBar food truck in 2022 and said it's been a big hit with children.
She told Newsround: "Kids get the WasteBar immediately. What starts as a game quickly turns into pride and awareness, showing that they can make a difference.
"They clearly have fun collecting the amount of litter required, while also learning that everything you do has an impact on the environment and people around you."
So far the WasteBar has appeared at around 50 events, collecting more than of 500,000 cigarette butts, some of which were used in an art exhibit last year.
