The Edinburgh side remains on course for their first title in more than 60 years after a huge result against Rangers.

Hearts came from behind to win the match 2-1 and take control of the title race.

The victory means that Hearts are now three points clear at the top of the table with only three games left to play.

Hearts knew it was going to be a tough match, with Rangers sitting third in the table.

And it was the Glasgow side who made the stronger start, with Dujon Sterling's 23rd-minute volley putting Rangers 1-0 ahead.

In the second half, Stephen Kingsley levelled for Hearts to send the home fans wild.

And it was captain Lawrence Shankland to the rescue, scoring the winner for Hearts, 19 minutes from time.

The 2-1 result means that Hearts are one step closer to lifting their first Scottish Premiership trophy in 66 years, with only three games left to play.

It also means that Rangers' title hopes this season have all but ended, as they remain in third place - seven points behind the league leaders.

Celtic are currently second in the table, three points behind Hearts.

This weekend sees Hearts travel to Motherwell on Saturday, before a huge Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers on Sunday lunchtime at Celtic Park.
