Paul Dickov, illuminated in blue, interviewed by the BBC at Co-Op Live

Former Manchester City striker Paul Dickov has been talking about the likely impact of manager Pep Guardiola leaving the club after 10 hugely successful years.

“When we lost Vincent Kompany, and then we lost Fernandinho, Sergio Aguero, David Silva - it was the end of the world, and somehow we replaced them and got better, and still won more trophies," he said.

"The club is so well run from top to bottom, there’s plans in place to replace whoever is leaving.

"People are already making comparisons to when Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, or when Arsenal Wenger left Arsenal, and they did struggle.

"The one thing I will say, the structure of this football club is the best, and it’s completely different from anywhere else, top to bottom.

"From the chairman to the head of recruitment, this place is set up for success.

"It’s big shoes to fill, but it should be easier than Sir Alex because everything here is set up for success.”

  9. 'For all his trophies - Pep's class was how he treated David Silva'published at 17:15 BST

We've been asking you for your memories of Pep Guardiola as his reign at the club draws to a close.

Will Linsdell has emailed in to tell us that "for all Pep’s success, for me his class is epitomised by how he treated legendary attacker David Silva when his son was born prematurely in December 2017". Baby Mateo was in hospital for five months and Will, a City fan of 55 years, said "Pep sanctioned El Mago to have as much time off as he needed to be with his family.

"Silva was without doubt one of City’s best players at that time, yet Pep instantly declared 'Family comes first'."Pep was genuinely emotional about the whole situation. Despite David’s long absence from the team City secured the title with 100 points."

"Johnny, Johnny Stones" bellowed from the stands as fans said goodbye.

He has made 293 appearances since joining from Everton for £47.5m in 2016 and helped City win six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, the Club World Cup and the Uefa Super Cup.
